How to Make a DTF Gang Sheet: Step by Step for 24-Inch Sheets
A DTF gang sheet is one piece of film you fill with as many designs as you can fit. You pay for the sheet area, not per design. To make one, arrange your designs at their final print size with about 1/4 inch between them on a 24-inch-wide sheet, export a single transparent PNG at 300 DPI, and upload it with your order.

This guide is for ordering a printed gang sheet from us with your own artwork. We print it in our Kendall and Doral shop, so you don't need a DTF printer. Here are the rules for a print-ready file: size, resolution, transparency, and spacing.
What is a DTF gang sheet?
A DTF gang sheet is one sheet of film. You can put as many designs on it as fit. You pay for the sheet area, not per design. We print it in CMYK with a white layer underneath on PET film, add adhesive powder to the wet ink, and cure it, so it arrives ready to press. You cut the designs apart and press each one where it goes.
Here's how our gang sheets work. Use a gang sheet when you have more than one design: a front print with chest and sleeve logos, a team order with names and numbers, or the same logo in adult and youth sizes. Since you pay for the area, filling the sheet gets you more for your money.
Our gang sheets are 24 inches wide
Our custom gang sheets are 24 inches wide. Check the available sheet lengths on our gang sheet product page before you prepare your file.
Most online guides talk about 22-inch sheets. In our shop, 22 inches is the width for products like cold peel, glitter, neon, ORGB, and UV DTF transfers. You order those on their own pages. Not sure if you need UV DTF? Read UV DTF vs DTF transfers: which one you need. Our hot peel transfers and Same-Day DTF Transfers also print 24 inches wide.
Those two extra inches matter. Two 11-inch-wide front prints side by side with a quarter inch between them need 22.25 inches. They fit on our 24-inch sheet with 1.75 inches to spare.
In our Gang Sheet Builder, make sure Custom DTF Gang Sheets is the product selected. That keeps the sheet at 24 inches wide.
Step 1: Size each design for where it will be pressed
Pick where each design goes on the garment and set it to its final size in inches before you build the sheet. We print every design at the size it has on the sheet.

These size ranges are for adult unisex M to L from our placement chart. Use them as a starting point, not a fixed rule.
| Placement | Width × height |
|---|---|
| Full front | 10–12 in × 10–14 in |
| Center chest | 6–10 in × 2–10 in |
| Left chest | 3.5–4.5 in × 2–3 in |
| Full back | 11–13 in × 13–15 in |
| Upper back | 10–12 in × 2–6 in |
| Sleeve | 2–3.5 in wide |
| Back collar / neck label | 1–3 in × 1–3 in |
| Oversized front or back | 12–15 in × 14–16 in |
Size changes with the shirt. For adult sizes small through extra-large, you can usually use one file. For 2XL and larger, make the design 1 to 1.5 inches wider. For youth sizes, create a separate smaller version instead of stretching one file. The placement guide shows every size zone.
Step 2: Prepare each file (transparent PNG, 300 DPI, RGB)
Each design needs to be print-ready before it goes on the sheet:
- Format: PNG in RGB is best. You can also use vector files like AI, EPS, PDF, or SVG if they're prepared correctly.
- Background: transparent. If your file has a background, it will print.
- Resolution: Use 300 DPI at the size you plan to print. For an 11-inch-wide design, you need 3,300 pixels across. Typing a higher DPI number into your design app doesn't add detail. If the file doesn't have enough pixels, it prints blurry. Print it smaller or start from a bigger file.
- Detail: Avoid tiny text and soft transparencies. We can print lines down to 0.08 mm (about 0.003 in). For fine detail that has to last through many washes, many guides suggest at least 0.02 in (0.5 mm). Bold detail holds up better.
- Color: we don't match Pantone or spot colors.
JPG is the weakest choice. It can't be transparent, so its background prints. If a JPG is all you have, remove the background before the design goes on the sheet. The details are in our full artwork guidelines.
Don't mirror your designs
Upload your design unmirrored, exactly how you want it to look on the garment. Our transfers are ready to press, so never flip the file before you send it.
Step 3: Lay out the sheet
You can build the sheet in our builder or the design software you already use. Either way, you get one PNG, 24 in wide, at 300 DPI.
Option A: Use our free Gang Sheet Builder
Our free Gang Sheet Builder runs in your browser on a computer. No account needed. Your artwork stays on your device while you lay out the sheet.

- Pick the product and length. Choose Custom DTF Gang Sheets, which is 24 in wide, and the length you plan to order.
- Upload your designs. Use PNG, JPG, WebP, or SVG. You can upload several at once. Drag them in or paste with Ctrl+V. Transparent PNG prints best.
- Check each design card. It shows the print size in inches at 300 DPI, the number of copies, and a DPI badge. You want green 300 DPI. If you see "Low resolution for this print size," print that design smaller or use a bigger file. If a file has empty space around the art or a solid background, the card offers Trim edges or Remove background.
- Set Gap to 0.25. Open the arrow next to Auto-arrange and set Gap to 0.25 in. The builder starts at 0.1 in, and our spacing rule is about 1/4 inch.
- Click Auto-arrange to pack everything and save space. It might turn a design sideways if that works better. Lock any design you want to keep in place. The Fill sheet option repeats one design until the sheet is full.
- Read the status bar. It shows the sheet size, how many designs you have, and how much of the sheet you're using. It also tells you when everything fits on a shorter sheet. If your designs don't fit after Auto-arrange, the builder suggests a longer sheet. Anything that goes over the edge gets marked "Off sheet."
- Click Finish. Check the sheet size at 300 DPI, the design count, and the space used. When it says "No issues found," download your PNG or add the sheet to your cart. Your artwork goes with the order, so there's nothing else to upload.

The builder offers our gang sheet lengths from 12 to 168 inches. We also sell longer sheets, up to 2,000 inches. For a sheet longer than 168 inches, prepare your own print-ready file (Option B below).
Option B: Use your own design software
Any design app that sets the canvas in inches and exports a PNG with a transparent background works, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva. Check that your app and plan can export with a transparent background before you start.
Make a canvas 24 inches wide and as long as the sheet you'll order. Set it to 300 DPI with a transparent background. That gives you a width of 7,200 pixels, the same size our builder exports. A 24 × 24 in sheet downloads as a 7,200 × 7,200 px PNG with a transparent background. Place each design at its actual final size, follow the spacing rules below, and export one PNG.
| Sheet (in) | Canvas at 300 DPI (pixels) |
|---|---|
| 24 × 12 | 7,200 × 3,600 |
| 24 × 24 | 7,200 × 7,200 |
| 24 × 36 | 7,200 × 10,800 |
| 24 × 48 | 7,200 × 14,400 |
| 24 × 60 | 7,200 × 18,000 |
| 24 × 72 | 7,200 × 21,600 |
| 24 × 84 | 7,200 × 25,200 |
| 24 × 96 | 7,200 × 28,800 |
Spacing and packing rules
- Leave about 1/4 inch between designs and at least 0.2 inch from the edges of the sheet. Our builder keeps that 0.2-inch margin on every side.
- Group designs by size when you can.
- Fill the gaps next to big prints with small logos, turned sideways if they fit better that way.
That 1/4 inch is the film you cut through when you trim each transfer. Tighter gaps make clean cuts harder.
Step 4: Check your sheet before you export
- 24 in wide, and the same length as the sheet you'll order
- 300 DPI
- Transparent background, with no white box behind any design
- Every design at its final size
- About 1/4 inch between designs and at least 0.2 inch at the edges
- Nothing mirrored
- No lines thinner than 0.08 mm
- A separate, smaller version for youth sizes
- Everything saved as one PNG
Check the resolution at the final print size before you export. A design that looks sharp on screen can still be short of pixels once it's printed at full size.

Spelling and final layout are on you, so read every name and number once more.
Step 5: Order your sheet and upload the file
To order a DTF gang sheet, open our Custom DTF Gang Sheets page, pick the sheet length you laid out, upload your PNG there, and check out. If you built the sheet in our builder, you can also add it to your cart from there. We print your artwork as uploaded. Check the size, resolution, and transparency before placing your order. Prices for each length are on that page.
Once you have your transfers, here's how to press your transfers.
When will my gang sheet be ready?
Standard gang sheet production takes 24 hours, Monday–Friday. Pickup is available the next business day after 7 PM ET. Wait for our order-ready email, then collect from the 24/7 pickup box in Kendall or Doral, or choose nationwide shipping. Shipping time is additional.
Gang sheets don't print same-day. If you need your order today, order Same-Day DTF Transfers before 2 PM ET, Monday–Friday, with print-ready artwork. We'll print them that day. Shipped orders leave with UPS the same day. Orders placed after 2 PM ET print the next business day.
How to pick your sheet length
Pick the shortest length that holds every design at its final size with about 1/4 inch between them. Only have a few small designs? Start with the 24 × 12 in sample size. Prices for each length are on our gang sheet page.

The builder makes this quick. Set the length you think you need and run Auto-arrange. If your designs need more room, the builder suggests a longer sheet. If everything fits on a shorter one, the status bar tells you which length to try.
How is a DTF gang sheet priced?
You pay for the area of the sheet, not per design. Every sheet is 24 inches wide, so the price depends only on the length you pick, starting at $7.20 for the 24 × 12 in sample size. A few lengths from our gang sheet page in October 2026:
| Sheet (in) | Price | Per inch of length |
|---|---|---|
| 24 × 12 | $7.20 | about $0.60 |
| 24 × 24 | $9.90 | about $0.41 |
| 24 × 60 | $23.30 | about $0.39 |
| 24 × 120 | $45.40 | about $0.38 |
| 24 × 168 | $62.60 | about $0.37 |
| 24 × 500 | $165.00 | about $0.33 |
| 24 × 1,000 | $288.99 | about $0.29 |
Longer sheets cost less per inch, so one longer sheet usually comes out cheaper than several short ones. Prices can change. Check the current price for your length on the product page before you order.
How many designs fit on one sheet?
It depends on the size of each design. We made these test sheets in our current builder in October 2026, with a gap of 0.25 inches and square designs. The fronts were 11 by 11 inches, and the logos were 4 by 4 inches. Here is what fit:
| Sheet (in) | Layout | Result in the builder |
|---|---|---|
| 24 × 24 | 2 fronts + 15 logos | 17 designs, 84% of the sheet used, no warnings |
| 24 × 36 | Fronts only (Fill sheet) | 6 fronts, 84% used |
| 24 × 36 | Logos only (Fill sheet) | 40 logos, 74% used |
| 24 × 60 | 8 fronts + 15 logos | 23 designs, 84% used, no warnings |
On the 24 × 24 sheet, all 17 designs fit with no warnings, but there's no room left for another row of logos. If you need more, go to the next length.
These are square test designs. Larger or taller art fits fewer, and your own sheet in the builder gives you the exact number.

Gang sheet questions, answered
Can I mix different designs and sizes on one sheet?
Yes. Front prints, chest logos, sleeve prints, names, and numbers can all go on one sheet. Just make sure each design is at its final size with about a quarter inch of space around it. Grouping designs by size makes packing easier.
Can I put notes or instructions inside my file?
Only include what you want to print. Don't add notes, instructions, hidden layers, or backup versions. Several designs in one file are fine, as long as they're spaced properly.
How should I prepare my gang sheet for printing?
We print your artwork exactly as you upload it, so check the size, resolution, and transparency, plus the spelling, layout, and spacing, before you order.
Can I reorder the same gang sheet later?
Yes. Keep a copy of your gang sheet file and upload it again with each new order. Color can vary slightly between separate runs, so if an exact tone matters, proof it on your own fabric first.
Is a DTF gang sheet cheaper?
Usually, when you have more than one design. You pay for the sheet area, not per design, so every design you fit on the sheet shares the same price. Sheets start at $7.20 for 24 × 12 in, and longer sheets cost less per inch of length: about $0.41 on a 24 × 24 in sheet and under $0.30 on the longest ones (October 2026). Fill the gaps with small logos to get the most from each sheet. Current prices are on our gang sheet page.
Can you reuse a DTF gang sheet?
No. Each transfer on the sheet is pressed once. After you press it and peel the film, the design stays on the garment and the used film goes in the trash. What you can reuse is your file. Keep a copy and upload it again when you reorder.
How do you make a DTF transfer?
You don't need a DTF printer. Prepare your design as a transparent PNG at 300 DPI at its final size, lay it out on a gang sheet, and upload it with your order. We print it in our shop in Kendall and Doral: CMYK ink plus a white layer on PET film, adhesive powder on the wet ink, then curing. You get transfers ready to press with a heat press.
How do you press gang sheet transfers?
Cut your gang sheet apart into individual designs first. Our gang sheet transfers are hot peel and press like our standard DTF transfers. Pre-press the garment for 10 seconds to remove moisture. Place the transfer with the printed side facing the fabric and the clear film on top, then press at 300°F (149°C) with firm pressure for 10 seconds. These are the settings for our gang sheets. Other suppliers' transfers may need different ones, so check the settings with the supplier. Open the press, wait 3 to 6 seconds, and peel the film slowly at an angle. Cover the print with a Teflon sheet or linen cloth and press for 10 more seconds to seal it. The full walkthrough is in our guide on how to press DTF transfers.
How long do the prints last?
With proper care, our transfers are made to last 50–100+ washes. Where a print lands in that range depends on pressing at the right temperature, time, and pressure, and on how you wash and dry the garment. Wait 24 hours before the first wash, then wash cold and inside out, skip fabric softener, and tumble dry low.

Build it, then order it
